About Turning Points
Speaking from Experience
The book is a collection of real experiences (true short stories) about major life challenges of the author Margit Willems Whitaker, and thoughts about the lessons learned. Part one of the book starts with the story of how she almost lost her life in a car accident at the age of 12. Subsequent stories describe the devastating effects that her oldest son’s medical diagnosis had on her, the untimely death of her husband, the subsequent loss of her son, and the obstacles she faced when trying to rebuild her life. The last chapter offers a glimpse into her struggle with fibromyalgia, and the personal battles she faced along the way. Each chapter concludes with a supplemental of lessons learned, and an affirmation. Part two is a collection of quotes, and the author’s interpretation of each quote.
